Inclusive Education at Our School

Our school is dedicated to providing an inclusive environment where every pupil, including those with special educational needs (SEND), is supported to thrive. We believe that all pupils, regardless of their individual needs, should be offered high-quality, inclusive teaching. This approach ensures they make the best possible progress and feel like valued members of our school community.

As the SEND Code of Practice states, "Every teacher is a teacher of SEND." We embrace this principle by tailoring support to individual needs, informed by thorough assessments from both our internal team and external agencies. Our commitment is to work in partnership with pupils and their families to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

Monitoring

We assess learners continuously in order to track progress and make any necessary interventions. Children with One Plans have their progress monitored and new targets are introduced as needed. Teachers and Teaching Assistants meet regularly with the SENCo to discuss children’s progress.

Lambourne Primary School is part of the Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust. As a result, we now have access to a range of extended services to support our pupils. These include:

  • Play Therapy

  • Counselling

  • Educational Psychologists

  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Early intervention and support for attendance

The school also works closely with a range of outside agencies including:

  • Educational Psychologist

  • Occupational Therapists

  • Physiotherapists

  • EWMHS (Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Service)

  • SAS (Statutory Assessment Service)
